Ms. Jackson teaches chemistry and International Baccalaureate Chemistry at Adrian High School. She was nominated for her willingness to open her classroom well into the evening and help with homework of any type.
Mr. Kesterke is the band director for Adrian High School and has directed the AMS 7-8 band as well. He was nominated for pushing his students to be their best and making sure their programs are as polished as possible.
Mrs. Williams is a fourth grade teacher at Alexander Elementary School. She was nominated by young students who said she helps them until they understand the content. She also stands at the door and tells everyone by name, to have a good night.
Jim is a proud Maple from the Class of 1956. A retired Navy Captain, he earned many medals and citations for his work in traffic and logistics management. He is currently a consultant for businesses that work with transportation for the federal government. Jim is married to Sally Baker Lunn, also a 1956 graduate.
From the Class of 1958, Julia was honored for her philanthropic leadership and love for the arts. Julia lives in Newport Beach, California and has made many contributions to arts concerns in her community as well as to the Adrian Schools Educational Foundation Arts Endowment.
John was honored for his career as a young attorney and his rising leadership role in the Grand Rapids area where he makes his home. He is from the Class of 1993
Matt has had a very successful career on and off Broadway, acting as stage manager for some very well-known productions, most recently Motown the Musical. He spent many years as a manager with the American Ballet Theatre which took him all over the world. He is from the Class of 1993.
Jason, from the Class of 2000, and his wife Esther, are missionaries in the Ukraine. Jason works with young orphans and mentors young men who have graduated from the orphanage, helping them learn important life skills such as budgeting and maintaining a job. Jason is also a pastor in the Evangelical Friends Church.
After all the awards were presented, Julia Argyros asked to take the stage where she announced that the Argyros Family Foundation was making a gift to the Adrian Schools Educational Foundation's Arts Endowment!
