Mouli Family Donate Building and $100,000 to Adrian Public Schools for STEM and Career Labs

Adrian, MI—Adrian Public Schools is proud to announce an extraordinary act of generosity by Drs. Konda and Padmaja Mouli and their sons, Dr. Samdeep Mouli, and Pradeep Mouli have donated a professional building adjacent to Adrian High School, valued at $300,000, to the district. This significant contribution will enhance district facilities and bolster educational opportunities for Adrian students.

Noting how deeply they value the opportunities that education and exceptional mentorship have provided them throughout their lives, Drs. Konda and Padmaja Mouli are also inspired to pledge $100,000 to support the creation of state-of-the-art STEM and Career labs at Adrian Public Schools’ four elementary buildings.  The Moulis have been long-time supporters of Adrian Public Schools through their annual contributions to the Adrian Schools Educational Foundation’s classroom grant program. Jenny Engle, Director of the ASEF states, “The Foundation looks forward to partnering with the district as this project progresses to enhance classroom experiences and support STEM initiatives.”

“We are incredibly thankful for the Moulis’ generosity and vision for the future of our students,” said Nate Parker, Superintendent of Adrian Public Schools.  He reports that the district will match this gift to achieve this vision for our elementary students.  “These gifts will allow us to inspire curiosity and innovation at an early age, providing students with the tools and experiences needed to pursue their career dreams and passions.  We are sincerely grateful to the Mouli Family for their dedication to education and their decision to support our schools in such a profound way.”

Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Derrick Richards shared, “The creation of these STEM and Career labs will provide dynamic, hands-on learning environments where elementary students can engage with science, technology, engineering, math, and career-focused pathways. These labs will seamlessly align with the state-of-the-art STEM facilities at Springbrook Middle School and Adrian High School, completing a comprehensive continuum of experiences for all students from kindergarten through 12th grade. With cutting-edge equipment and resources, these spaces will be designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and a passion for learning.”

Planning for the STEM and Career Labs is underway, and completion is anticipated sometime in the 2025-2026 school year.
